Jon Soberg is a global early stage venture investor specializing in financial technologies, enterprise software and global markets. Mr. Soberg is known as one of the most active global investors in Silicon Valley, and has participated in over 110 financings across 5 continents. At Blumberg Capital, Mr. Soberg led more than 60% of the firm’s investments, defined and spearheaded Blumberg Capital’s “Lead the Seed” strategy and expanded the global footprint, taking advantage of global opportunities where innovation is thriving, but capital is scarce. Jon has served on the boards of over 30 companies in such diverse locations as Malta, India, Israel, Germany, Canada and several US cities.
Selected investments include Addepar, Any.DO, Coverhound, Credorax, Cyvera, Kreditech, Trulioo, FeeX, Fundbox, Paymill, SocietyOne, One-Page, Roam, Zanbato and Hootsuite. Notable exits include Hootsuite (52X multiple) and Cyvera (20X multiple in 18 months).
Prior to becoming an investor, Mr. Soberg was a serial entrepreneur with an IPO exit to his credit, and an operating executive at Ditech/GMAC Mortgage, managing $70B in lending volume. He has extensive experience working with startups, and a diverse industry background through work at Accenture, Capital Group, HSBC, Nieman Marcus, Great-West Life, STEM and NASA. An engineer by training, Mr. Soberg started his career at Carnegie Mellon University’s Field Robotics Center.
